Lindsey Gill

Yoga Sharer

Lindsey Gill

Lindsey began practicing yoga in her teens to cope with the stress of school. Growing up in Florida and then moving to Philadelphia for college, Lindsey saved up a small nest egg during college to enroll in a Yoga Teacher training program. Since receiving her certificate in June 2021, Lindsey has been taught by many friends and community members where she lives in Queen Village, including Practice Yoga Co-Op, a donation-based studio run by new teachers like her. Lindsey tries to attend yoga events, gatherings, and meditations around Philly whenever she can to connect with other practitioners and deepen her own practice. This is how she found Yoga 4 Philly when she saw an outdoor class being taught in Jefferson Square park and got curious. After reaching out to the team, Lindsey knew she felt aligned with Y4P’s mission to provide accessible yoga to a more diverse range of people in Philly and surrounding neighborhoods.

Lindsey hopes that this step to join Y4P will open her to new ideas about life, yoga, and sharing its benefits in the community with others. She knows that she still has a lot of work to do as a teacher—but she starts every class with the mindset that her students will always be her own teachers in sharing their practice with her—on and off the mat.
