Dr. Loren (Lorenzo) Thomas
Dr. Loren Thomas has been a scholar, teacher, school administrator, and college faculty member over the course of his 46 year career in education. He holds three masters degrees and doctorate.
Loren retired from being a superintendent of schools in 2013. In addition to his career in education, Loren has been a volunteer as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, in outdoor education, at a refugee camp in Greece, and as director of a small bilingual school in Costa Rica.
A lifelong athlete and competitor through high school and college, Loren is now an avid trail runner, kayaker, rock climber, and both practices and teaches yoga. He currently teaches yoga at different locations in Philadelphia and as an instructor at a YTT in Peru.
He is a lifelong meditator and has done several trainings in meditation.
Loren found yoga in 1997 after bicycling across the US. For Loren, yoga brought together the athletic, spiritual, and intellectual dimensions of life. After retiring, he did his 200-hour YTT and since has done additional training in Anusara yoga, wall vinyasa, and trauma-informed yoga.
He is currently completing his 500 certification. He is excited to share his passion for yoga, along with his commitment to health and fitness, and mindfulness.
