Kamila Hasana Ahmad

Kamila Hasana Ahmad’s message is affirmative love and creating space. An avid student of the human experience, and melomaniac, Kamila infuses her traditional foundation of education with her spiritual practices into her life’s work. Born and raised Sufi Muslim, she credits a great deal of her upbringing to cultural influences from Lebanon, Egypt, and West Africa, where her maternal grandmother was raised. In 2019, she completed her YTT at Studio 34, where she teaches on occasion. In the summer of 2023, Kamila completed certification in Curanderismo: Mexican Traditional Healing Of The Mind, Body and Spirit. She has a multidimensional spiritual knowledge that informs her practice and enables her to be a helpful witness along the healing path for others. Knowing that spirituality is universal and inherent, she is not confined by titles, positions, or names. She lives by the motto: “Spirit recognizes Spirit.” Each of her offerings aims to reconnect and recognize the spirit in all that we do. Kamila’s belief is that remembrance is the goal, always. What we seek, has sought us first, and it’s up to us (through ritual) to remember the truth of our being, making every step the destination.

I attended two of Dr. Jerika  Johnstone’s classes in the summer of 2021, which were both such memorable experiences, that I returned a couple of years later in 2023. When Dr. Johnstone learned that I was also a yoga instructor, she encouraged me to connect with Yoga4Philly, and the rest is history!
