Oliver Jane

Oliver/Olivia Jane (they/them) is a nonbinary Yoga Teacher and qualifying Yoga Therapist based out of Philadelphia, PA. With training in the tradition of Krishnamacharya as taught by his son T.K.V. Desikachar, Oliver specializes in helping students use their breath and Yoga practice to bring about their most optimal expression of wellness. Oliver has been practicing Yoga on and off since age 14. They got serious about their practice in 2013 while in recovery from a traumatic life event, and have been teaching Yoga since 2018. They completed their first 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course in 2018 at Breathe Yoga + Wellness in Toronto, ON. Oliver subsequently enrolled in Yoga Therapy Toronto’s training programs, completing a 300hr YTT at Yoga Therapy Toronto in May 2019. Currently, Oliver is enrolled in an IAYT Accredited Yoga Therapist training program at Yoga Therapy Toronto (expected graduation in winter 2022). As a Yoga therapist, Oliver has specialized training in creating personalized practices that assist individuals in managing, treating, and reducing the symptoms of various illnesses and injuries. Additionally, Oliver has training and experience in teaching Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra. When not teaching or practicing Yoga, Oliver teaches theatre and collaborates with other theatre-makers to create original plays in Philadelphia.

In their own life, they have had great success using the tools of Yoga to reduce symptoms of chronic pain, Rheumatoid Arthritis, insomnia, hormonal imbalances, digestion issues, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Oliver has a deep passion for self-healing, for trauma recovery, and for teaching others the tools for both. They take great joy in leading people through Yoga practices meant to help them find greater experiences of well-being and personal contentment.
