Yoga Sharer

Shatoya Howard

Shatoya is a queer, black social worker and Philly native. Shatoya returned to yoga in 2020 following a car accident. Shatoya started doing daily yoga flows using YouTube videos. Shatoya also suffers from chronic pain and anxiety and found that these yoga practices especially meditation were helping her feel better overall. This led Shatoya to seek out a community where she could connect with other yogis. Shatoya received a certificate in trauma-informed yoga from Unity Yoga in 2020. Shatoya then Enrolled in an intensive immersion with three queens yoga in 2021. After the experience with Three Queen Yoga, Shatoya felt like it was part of her calling to pursue training to become a yoga teacher. Shatoya completed her 200-teacher training at MOnarch in 2023.

When you enter a class with Shatoya, you will be welcomed by a calm voice whose main focus is to guide you in a practice where your body leads your asana. Shatoya’s mission is to provide a space where you deepen your connection to yourself and spirit. Outside of yoga, Shatoya is a social worker, loves to read and travel, and is a devoted cat mom to Jinx and Precious.
